Giada - a year at a glance
Well as hard as it is to believe, this time last year I was ready to have this baby girl! Since her birthday is on Friday and there will most likely be birthday photos to post next week, I thought I'd do a year at a glance of photos. Amazing how much she has changed. We cannot imagine our lives without our little girl. I thought the block idea was really cute, but as you will see some months worked out better than others, some I had to switch to paper and some I had professional photos taken....it was a good idea, just poorly executed on my part.

We have a walker!
Well there are a few things for this post!
Giada is walking! The last few days of the year she was working hard at it...taking 5-8 steps at a time, then on New Years day she was off. Below are a couple clips. The first one from when she first got the hang of it and the second one from today, she can move quickly now!!
Giada is in a big girl seat now. She likes it better, but still doesnt like being strapped in....but you can look back at her, talk to her and make her laugh...which is fun.
Giada has been under the weather for about a week, but she is finally on the mend. The other morning while she was eating breakfast she was laughing and having a good time, then I looked away for a second and she was putting food in her hair!!! Now she wants to do this ALL the time.....humm...I think we have a problem here :) Funny none the less.
Pancakes anyone?
This month Ive come a long way.
- Sleeping through the night!!! FINALLY. She wakes up a few times but puts herself back to sleep within a couple minutes. Now its training my body to NOT wake up. I have to think its great for her too!
-Nursing only morning and night at this point and about to drop the morning one, and probably TMI, but I think Im drying up a bit on one side so it may stop for itself
-Will NOT take a bottle from anyone, so sippy cup is our friend
-Drinking whole milk now, isnt so sure about it just yet.
-Started chewing on her crib, so we had to put some stuff on there, must feel good on the teeth.
- Speaking of teeth 4 up top and almost 3 on the bottom.
-As I said earlier, big girl car seat
-Babbles a TON, says dada, seems to understand some words..."monkey" "cup" "kitty" - when we tell her to go get certain things she "gets" it.
-Loves playing with her pets, both are pretty patient, Max scratched her the other day, but thats bound to happen!
-Hair is super long, curly and thick
-Loves her baths, we got rid of the bath seat
-Loves imitating sounds that we make
-Loves making this "ahhh" sound after every time she drinks from a cup, its pretty funny
-Loves her monkey! We are on the look out for a back-up.
-Thats all mom can think of right now.
Every once in awhile Syd and Max sleep together, last night they were so cute all cuddled up, it still cracks me up that the dog and cat are friends. This is an old pic I keep meaning to post. One day I ran into my dad at the grocery store....next thing I know Giada has an inflatable balloon and gets to rid on the conveyor belt!!!

New Years!
Happy New Year!
This year we decided to stay local and party it up with some friends. Surprisingly a good size group we were able to come up with at the last minute. We ended up having a delicious dinner, cocktails and Rock Band....for sure the makings of a good night. Giada took a nap for a couple hours which was nice that we could ring in the New Years with friends, then she decided she and Dylan both decided they felt left out and wanted to join the party for a couple hours. We all had a late night, up until almost 4! Had my first shot of Petron since before I was pregnant, can't say it went down easy, but it went down. Thanks again mom for picking us up!! :)
Thanks Dylan for sharing your toys!

Christmas Post (Sorry for the delay)!
Giada's first christmas!
Family Photo @ Dinner
Definitely fun for everyone to have Giada here this Christmas. I thought she would want to dig into the paper and ribbon more than she did, but often there were a lot of distractions and she just wanted to play with the toys or chase around and torment Gina's dog Annie. And of course she was spoiled rotten by all her loved ones.
Christmas Morning, Giada is not sure what to think!
Mike and I decided to get Giada a present without telling eachother what we were getting, it was fun to be surprised. But, Mike saw the name on my present(the box said Radio Flyer all over it) so the cat was out of the bag on mine....turned out good for me - now he could help me put it together! I don't think she can appreciate the wagon too much yet, but it will be fun for the future. Matt lives so close we take rides down to his house in it.
Loved looking at the lights on the tree.
Testing out the new ride.
Chillin in my ride down the street!
Mikes gift was much more creative, he got her a lifesize Sydney. She loves it and goes up and hugs it. We arent too sure what Sydney thinks about it.
What the heck is this thing?? And why do you keep calling my name and taking photos???
Everyone was so thoughtful and generous with their gifts. Below is a sampling ....
Loves her zebra from Nonna and Nonno - its the perfect size she can get off and on herself.
Ball-pit from Uncle Matt and Aunt Steph - of course they got the additional 250 balls!! It took her about a minute to realize she could throw the balls out of the pit, and about 1 more minute to realize she can throw multiple balls at once!! Fun Fun!
Now anything doubles as a ball pit to throw things out of! It's okay maybe all running around will help me get rid of the rest of my baby weight!! ;)
