Matt & Steph get married! Birthday 29.2

This weekend was a memorable one for sure. My brother got married this weekend.
5.14.2011
Our family couldn't be happier for them. Matt and Steph have been together for 6 years and we love her dearly. We have worked with her family for the past year on all the little details. Everything went off beautifully. Steph did so much of it herself - even made the centerpieces and they were beautiful!! Thank you to all the friends and family who made it and helped out along the way.

We started Friday off with manicures, pedicures and mimosas of course!

Steph's Auntie Ann and Aunt Julie from Colorado hosted a beautiful lunch at Wine & Roses, the weather was perfect, we sat outside and had an outstanding lunch! Thank you again Ann and Julie - wonderful to meet you both.
Rehearsal
Rehearsal Dinner
Matt and Steph ended up extending the invite to their out of town relatives coming to the wedding. It was fun to meet Steph's family, as well as visit with ours, since as most of you know the wedding day flies by and it never seems like there is enough time to visit!

After the rehearsal all the girls stayed at our house and we spent Saturday morning getting our hair and make-up done. Even Mya played around with the garter. The girls spent their spare time taking pics of the essentials....dress, flowers, rings etc.
A shot or two helps get the jitters out!

Limo ride to the wedding
Giada loved the limo. Everyone told me that once she was in a bigger forward facing car seat- which was long ago- she would be much happier in the car.....well those people were wrong. She always complains of being "stuck", "mom hold me" but don't worry, that doesn't detur me from going on roadtrips!
Flowergirl did ....so so....she noticed Mike and yelled out "Daddy" and ran to him....then came back and I lured her over with a sucker which helped for the rest of the vows. Luckily it was a quick ceremony!
Here comes the bride!
Sealed with a kiss!
Mr and Mrs. Fuhrman
It's official - lets celebrate!
She lost the headband moments after the ceremony :)
Giada and Drew are 2nd cousins. They were having so much fun playing together on the fence and in the rocks! Drew is darling I wish we could get them together more often!
What ?? I'm not supposed to play in the rocks in my pretty dress?1st Dance
Lifelong friends- Campbell girls(minus a few) and Dad Kent!
The only family pic we managed to get that night!
This Saturday was also my birthday - the big 29.2 I was happy to share the day with them! KR and I are birthday buddies and always do brunch with the girls. This year we went on Sunday to Wine and Roses for brunch and mimosas. Of course mine were champagne less but fresh squeezed OJ atleast so that's a plus! Natalie made some delicious cupcakes to top off the brunch. Thanks Nat- they were yummy!! And this year one of the birthday girls (I'll let you guess which one) required that we wear "hair flair" to the brunch. SO...that explains the added pieces to our attire.

Happy Birthday KR!

Breast Cancer Run, Oil Event, Mothers Day

This weekend was no different than any other for us - busy!

Saturday we had the annual Breast Cancer Susan G Komen run and brunch. Small group this year but fun none the less. I definitely enjoy running over walking but the company was great- always love the time with the girls.

Then it was off to celebrate Kaili's 3rd birthday at the park. Strawberry Shortcake Theme and one of the best cakes I've ever had. Noelle we need that recipe!!

After that Jeanne and I headed to Lincoln Center to do an oil tasting at a Fashion Show. It was different than normal events we do, but fun to see what the designers had come up with. We had a favorite, the rest were not outfits you would see people walking around in Lodi thats for sure! Thanks Nicole for inviting us. Nicole and I are a month apart so we had so fun taking pictures on the red carpet!

Mothers Day was nice, I got to sleep in and then Giada woke me up with a handmade card and gift. We watched a movie in bed, then headed over to brunch with Mikes family at Phillips Farms. It was nice to visit with everyone, and Giada could spend hours feeding the animals, and chasing the chickens roaming about. I forgot to take a group pic, but grabbed one of Giada on the tractor and Nonno teaching her the game of Bocce.

We came home for a nap, then headed to my parents for a Mothers Day/Birthday Dinner.
Giada enjoyed playing with Steph in the tent - all you could hear was a ton of laughter coming from there.

This weekend my phone completely died. I'm so sad that I lost all my videos of Giada. I wasn't good at downloading those. I should have a new phone soon, it's so weird not to have one! I've been phoneless since Saturday. If you have an iphone- back up now!!

SO- I also lost my list of notes of what Giada does/says for the week. Below are the few I can remember.
-Mom is having baby brother, I'm having baby sister
-After my dad put down cocoa bark in his yard she was saying: I'm walking in hot chocolate. I have hot chocolate on my feet!
-She's big this week on - I do it Let's play a game...you sit there....
-She has been using some choice words that we aren't a fan of so we are trying to be much more careful of what we say. We lasted longer than I thought for her to start directly repeating things.
-Sydney reached her long tongue out the other day to get a treat from Giadas hand and she said " Like the Giraffe does" - I am always surprised when she associates two completely different things. You forget how much their brain is absorbing.

I'm 29 weeks!
The say - Your baby is growing rapidly now. This week he weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is getting bigger to accommodate his growing brain – which is busy developing billions of neurons.

-My stomach is feeling very tight and out of room. So I'm sure the belly is due for a growth spurt. He is constantly moving around. All day and night. I'm still sleeping well and that cough seems to have gone away which is great. Dr appt tomorrow, and then I think I move to 2 week appts- scrary! Im STILL working on clearing out his room, and making SLOW progress. Im still looking at bedding and have found nothing Im in love with. I can feel hard things pushing my stomach but Im not sure if it is a foot or hand.

Until next week....

Syd turns 6, Shower for Steph, Discovery Kingdom, Dinners, & Mud fun!

Sydney turned 6 on March 31. I think I forgot to blog about that! She has been a great dog!
This past week Renee and I took Nico and Giada to Discovery Kingdom. It was so much fun, it had rides, animals for the kids to see and shows. They had a blast and we will go back for sure.

I think the kids are always wondering where we are taking them.....
sometimes they aren't so sure.
The walrus was fun to see and jumped up right in front of the kids. It scared them a little, then they loved it!
The kids loved feeding the giraffes. And surprisingly there wasn't anyone else around so they got to feed the kids as much as they wanted. Carrots, lettuce, they had so much fun, we had to drag them away. Did you know the reason the tongue is black is because they always have it out of their mouth to eat, and they don't want want it to get sunburned.
I learned something new!
Giada loved playing in this room full of balls. It was the "ball elevator" she called it.
This week we had an oil event in Sonoma. We had a media dinner with Estate restaurant. The chefs made a delicious dinner with all our oils and vinegar. Yum!
We had a beautiful shower at a Tracy winery for Steph. Great job Lynz and Laura!
Can't believe the wedding is 2 weeks away.
Bridesmaids (minus Kyla)
Cozy court moms!
Girls that work at the Salon with Steph
Games! We played lots of fun games at the shower. Julie on the right was declared the winner! I highly suggest never using 1 ply paper for this game.....it was very difficult to construct dresses, it kept ripping!

Present time!
Outdoor dishes to use on their new patio.
Steph has a funny expression on her face in many of the photos, because she kept guessing the wrong answers to the game and had to put a piece of gum in her mouth for each answer wrong. She kept claiming Matt was saying the wrong answers, it was pretty funny. This gum pic below is not even as big as it got!
I've been to quite a few bridal showers and never have I watched something so sweet. Steph's mom Kitty made a slideshow of Steph growing up with the perfect music and pics of Matt and Steph - there wasn't a dry eye in the place!
After the shower we headed to a dinner with friends. Good times that night!

Mud! Giada found a mud hole in the backyard and had SO much fun playing around in it.
Giada Update
- She has been reading to me a lot lately. And it usually 94 -7 - zero is how it starts off. It's comical.
-Loves signing nursery rhymes lately, and will sing them over and over, all kinds of them.
-Loves the "Give a Mouse a Cookie" series and all the others that go with it.
- We heard a bird signing the other day and I asked her, " What is that bird saying" she said "Tweet tweet, I want a cracker"
- She will walk up to you and tell you she wants to give you something. She says "Use your manners, say please" "Thank you for using your manners"
- OBESESSED with snails and worms. She loves collecting them. I have tried to tell her they stay outside and she doesn't need to hold them all in her hand, but she disagrees!
-When she wants you to play a different song on the CD she says "next page please"

Baby Update
-7 months, getting there
-Making progress on the room. Small progress. Put a new computer desk together and have started clearing out what was the guest room/office.
-Kicking a ton and stomach is growing quick!!
