Zoo, Camping Adventure, A's game, Updates

Last week we went with Seve and Alex to the zoo. The lorikeets are in town and we thought it would be fun to have a picnic in the park after. We weren't the best at taking photos, but a few of these are pretty funny. A little background is I don't care for birds, so this is a stretch already to go in there and feed them. I will say I did better than the other girls. One of them threw the nectar and screamed - it was pretty comical. But when one landed on my head to try and eat my sunglasses and the other was on my shoulder - I'd had about enough!

Not so bad when they eat from a distance...
Then they start creeping up!
Giada giving Seve one of her hugs....not sure he was thrilled about it!

Before everyone came out to the lake we went out there to clean a few things up. Giada had so much fun playing in the sand pile that Nonno had there!

This weekend we had planned to camp at Mike's parents lake. We did it last year, and it was lots of fun. All the elements of camping and only 10 minutes from town! You would think Memorial weekend would be a nice hot weekend, but as I'm sure many of you found, that was not the case with weather this year. We all headed out on Saturday, about 30 of us. Music was blasting, kids were playing in the sand, volleyball games were in the works.....and then it started pouring!!!! It rained so hard for a couple hours. We vacated back to Mike's parents house for a few hours then back to the lake for campfire and smores. All in all a good time.
We may have to have a re-do camping weekend later in the summer!

Giada loves riding in the motorhome!
Tricia was occupying the kids in the sand.

Frannie Avansino made a visit!

Mike and Scott BBQ'd for a couple hours in the rain! Thanks guys!
After the rain stopped Hilder and Dylan found the puddles. They had SO much fun splashing around. I'm not sure who had more fun Dylan or Hilder.
Giada passed out before we headed back to the lake. She missed the smores!
Giada and Dylan spend a lot of time together and some visits are better than others. This weekend they were best buddies and had a blast playing. They would hide all over the motorhome. For this picture they told me they were having a picnic at the table. And said "Cheese" giving me their best grin! They loved waking up and being at the lake "camping"
Before we left Nonno came out and did some fishing with Giada.
She caught 2 before we lost the hook.

Monday KR, Nat and I went to the A's game. It was weird going to a game not wanting to cheer for either team, but we had good seats, and great weather. Fun day with the girls. I will say it was weird to be in Oakland and definitely there were more Yankee fans than As fans.

Lately Giada loves playing dress up. We were given a bunch of dress up clothes and she puts them on and runs all over the house. In this instance she wanted to put on this tutu to go out and collect worms and snails.....go figure!
Giada has been so funny lately! Some favorites below:
- Out of no where she will say "Calm yourself daddy!" I will take blame for this one, I'm sure she has heard me say this, but it's really funny to hear her say it, although we are trying to discourage it!
-She has been walking all around with her hands on her hips.
-She found Max's collar, it had fallen off. It's a red heart with his name and our info on it in case he gets lost. She picked it up and said "It says I love my cat"
-Loves the "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" book series. We read them over and over!
-Loves gymnastics and music class. We are on a couple week break from music and she cannot figure out why we aren't going there and asks for Ms. Wendy every day.
-We saw a picture of a Kangroo on TV. I asked her what a kangaroo does....thinking she would say jump. Nope, she said "Baby is called a joey"
- When I ask her to do something she is real big on "5 more minutes mom"
-If she burps she always says "I burp I cough I burp I cough" and laughs
- We start swim lessons next week so that will be fun. And by fun I mean fun for Giada. Why I thought it would be a good idea to be in a parent tot swim class for a month when I'm 8 months pregnant is beyond me :)

Baby
- Same here , he is moving a ton.
-No closer on a name
-I am starting to itch, which means the ol tummy is growing!
-Fortunately I feel great, so it's super annoying to me all the things people keep telling me I can't do. My neighbor(who is a dr) came out and told me to get off my bike. Apparently that's out.
-Also mowing the lawn. I grew up doing it, it's kind of therapeutic, and when you live in town it takes 2 seconds to mow the lawn. But apparently that's out too!
-Foot cramps, I do get quite a few of those at night.
-I keep saying this but hopefully this week will make some progress on the clearing out the room and will order bedding!!

Graeagle, Baby and G updates!

After the wedding last weekend we headed to Graeagle. It was for a funeral, so not under the best circumstances, but nice to see everyone and celebrate the wonderful life of Harvey West. It was unusual to have to take the back way in since it was snowing!! But always a relaxing time in Graeagle - so beautiful there. We saw a ton of deer, which Giada and I both enjoy, and Giada of course needed to sit on the bear. She took monkey over there to sit on it. The said "dad come sit on bears tail" I said, "do you think he will fit?" She said, "mom get your camera" We had a good laugh over it, and it was a cute pic!
We didn't get back until Tuesday so it seemed to throw the whole week off, and make the week fly by. We had 2 big oil events this weekend. Artisan Market at the Williams Sonoma in SF, and the St Mary's Olive Oil Festival. Both were successful but we had a lot to prepare for. Thank you to everyone who visited our booth. The SM festival is always fun to run into people we have't seen in a LONG time.

I just wasn't a good picture taker this weekend. We also went to a couple birthday parties. Happy Birthday Scott and Camy!

But don't worry we had plenty of time to catch a lizard. It was running around the house for some reason so I taught Giada how to trap it... then she had the big decision of where to let it go. She had such a tough time deciding grass or mud!! The dilemmas of a 2 year old. She spent the rest of the day looking for where it had "run off to"

As you could tell from above Giada is enjoying requesting her photo be taken. This time she said "Hey dad, take a photo of me with Sydney"
Forgot to mention this last week but we used these on our shoes at Matt and Stephs wedding and they are amazing. It's this clear piece that attaches your heel so you don't sink into the ground and you don't even see them. They are called Sole Mates High Heeler. I wish I had them for the past 10 years of weddings on the grass!! It's one of those "Why didn't I think of that???" inventions!
Giada - funny stuff she says
- She said a couple times "lets go find trouble" we finally asked her where she heard that and she said Pops! We laughed and should have known! Sounded like something my dad would say. I guess they were saying that during the wedding!
- When we were in Graeagle she said " Lets go out there in the golf cart and feed the deers a treat" I said, "what kind of treat?" she said, "Like a dog treat"
- She is constantly saying there are bees and flys around and swatting them. I think she just likes an excuse to hit things.
-She will drape something over her arm and tell you it's a snake and ask if you want to pet it. It could be anything from a sock to a baby that is draped over. She saw the lady do that at 2 zoos when she was letting you pet the snakes, so I guess that's where she got it!
- Giada made friends at the wedding and will tell you" I want to see my cousin from the wedding day" She had so much fun playing with Drew.
-We took care of Matt and Stephs dogs while they were gone. Every time we walked up they would start barking so loud, she would say " It's ok Diesel, Dutchess it's just us!"
- Also why Matt and Steph were gone, she would see his truck in the driveway and ask, "Wheres Matt been? Bike ride?"
- She tells me "Dad calls you Jules, I call you mom"
- She will walk up to you and say "Say please" she is wanting you to say please and ask her for whatever she is hiding behind her back. It can be challenging if I can't sneak a peek at what she has behind her back. Then when you say "Please can I see the xxxx" she says "thank you for using your manners." Its pretty funny.

Baby
- They say his head is down and moved me up to July 21
-I start my 2 week appt tomorrow, seems crazy to be so close already!
- I feel very cramped especially when I'm sitting, not sure where he is going to go for the next 8 weeks. Long drives are kind of uncomfortable.
- I continue to have very realistic and vivid dreams. I wake up having to decide if they are real or not, I don't remember that happening with Giada.
-Maternity pants are the worst things ever. I have tried the ones with big and small band, they all fall off. I can't get a size smaller or it won't fit my legs!! I wear them occasionally but still try to squeeze in my pants. I didn't have this problem last time either so he must be sitting different than Giada was.
- All in all feeling great, and need to work on his room and name!!

Matt & Steph get married! Birthday 29.2

This weekend was a memorable one for sure. My brother got married this weekend.
5.14.2011
Our family couldn't be happier for them. Matt and Steph have been together for 6 years and we love her dearly. We have worked with her family for the past year on all the little details. Everything went off beautifully. Steph did so much of it herself - even made the centerpieces and they were beautiful!! Thank you to all the friends and family who made it and helped out along the way.

We started Friday off with manicures, pedicures and mimosas of course!

Steph's Auntie Ann and Aunt Julie from Colorado hosted a beautiful lunch at Wine & Roses, the weather was perfect, we sat outside and had an outstanding lunch! Thank you again Ann and Julie - wonderful to meet you both.
Rehearsal
Rehearsal Dinner
Matt and Steph ended up extending the invite to their out of town relatives coming to the wedding. It was fun to meet Steph's family, as well as visit with ours, since as most of you know the wedding day flies by and it never seems like there is enough time to visit!

After the rehearsal all the girls stayed at our house and we spent Saturday morning getting our hair and make-up done. Even Mya played around with the garter. The girls spent their spare time taking pics of the essentials....dress, flowers, rings etc.
A shot or two helps get the jitters out!

Limo ride to the wedding
Giada loved the limo. Everyone told me that once she was in a bigger forward facing car seat- which was long ago- she would be much happier in the car.....well those people were wrong. She always complains of being "stuck", "mom hold me" but don't worry, that doesn't detur me from going on roadtrips!
Flowergirl did ....so so....she noticed Mike and yelled out "Daddy" and ran to him....then came back and I lured her over with a sucker which helped for the rest of the vows. Luckily it was a quick ceremony!
Here comes the bride!
Sealed with a kiss!
Mr and Mrs. Fuhrman
It's official - lets celebrate!
She lost the headband moments after the ceremony :)
Giada and Drew are 2nd cousins. They were having so much fun playing together on the fence and in the rocks! Drew is darling I wish we could get them together more often!
What ?? I'm not supposed to play in the rocks in my pretty dress?1st Dance
Lifelong friends- Campbell girls(minus a few) and Dad Kent!
The only family pic we managed to get that night!
This Saturday was also my birthday - the big 29.2 I was happy to share the day with them! KR and I are birthday buddies and always do brunch with the girls. This year we went on Sunday to Wine and Roses for brunch and mimosas. Of course mine were champagne less but fresh squeezed OJ atleast so that's a plus! Natalie made some delicious cupcakes to top off the brunch. Thanks Nat- they were yummy!! And this year one of the birthday girls (I'll let you guess which one) required that we wear "hair flair" to the brunch. SO...that explains the added pieces to our attire.

Happy Birthday KR!
