Kern Kids Birthday,Field Trip, Phillips Farms, Harvest Party, Costumes, Wedding & More!

Field trip for Giada! Teacher Jan has a walnut orchard. The kids got to head to her farm and learn how they are harvested. Giada and Maddie thought it was hilarious when they shook them out of the trees.  Some walnut painting and pumpkins- kids were thrilled.

Gino was pretty excited to go on the field trip too.
Farmer Frank took a liking to him and took on the pumpkin hunt!
Harvest Party! We lucked out again on the weather and had another successful Calivirgin harvest party. Wes Nilssen prepared amazing food once again using our oils and vinegars and Guantonios pizza never disappoints! Thanks to all who came out and helped make it a success!

Stella is eating real food now. She isn't so sure about the rice cereal just yet!

Annual trip to Phillips Farms with the fam!

I asked Giada where they were headed she says " San Diego" LONG tractor ride!  Then she wanted Nana to take the trip as well!

Cute photo ...

Until the baby spits up on you - and then the toddler freaks out - lol

Often when the kids are together I try to take a cousin pic...this is usually how it goes. Stella is perfect, until she is frightened. Giada makes silly faces, until she feels like smiling; and by the time she is ready the others are over it. Gino comes in wild and doesn't stay long!

What better outfit to wear to a Super Hero party???  Happy Birthday Dylan and Aubrey! GREAT party Nicole!!

Happy Birthday Teya. Thanks for the fun!
The kids get lots of chances to wear their costumes. Costume week at gymnastics! Gino wouldn't participate so Giada thought poking with her wand would help!

Downtown Lodi Trick or Treating!  Giada and Dylan had more fun telling us what everyone's costumes were than getting the candy.

Candy break!

Congratulations Colby!!
Difference between Gino and Giada. She has never tried to climb in the sand table! At least not at this young age!

Stella helped root on those Giants!

Fog Willow Pumpkin Patch, Em Visits, Water Play, & Cows

Well even though it is October it is still HOT. We are still playing in the water and the kids love it.  Of course Giada would rather play in a mud hole than clean water - lol

Stella is getting to be a big girl. She sits in the bumbo chair when she stays with us.  She was so tired one day but wouldn't sleep. I set her in the chair and she was out!  Once I transferred her to a better resting spot, the big kids jumped right in to check out the chair. No such luck on it making them fall asleep! lol

Forgot to post these last week but a couple weeks ago when Mike's cousin Emily was visiting we had dinner with the family! Not the kids best dinner outing but great to see Em as always!

I decorated for Fall this past week and I hope it helps the hot weather get out of here!! It is nice and fall like today but I see 80s for next week - argh!
Every year we head to Fog Willow Pumpkin Patch with some of our teacher friends who are on 2 week break. Always a good time! It is such a fun one for kids of this age.

What fun it is to feed the cattle!!
Jeanne and I headed to our last event of the season (who hoo!) It was our first time at Canada College Arts and Olive Festival. We will head back again next year for sure - great event!!

Limors wedding - Weekend in Venice and Giadaisms!

Limor got hitched!! Last weekend Mike and I headed to Venice/Long Beach last for Limor and Dave's wedding.  We had a great time celebrating with friends. No pics to show but thank you Noriegas for meeting us for dinner Friday night- so great to catch up with you two!!  Cocktails on the rooftop, a 16 mile run on the beach and lots of singing and dancing - fun weekend!  The violist playing throughout the night was so neat!!! Congrats Limor!!

Thanks to mom and Jeanne for watching the kiddos while we were away!! XO!

Stella is getting to be a big girl. We venture out a little more when we have her for the day.  It's all laughing when we start the walk...then they are out!

1st cousins!
 3rd cousins!
Giada really enjoys building things.  I asked her what she was doing here...she said "fixing this lock, it's broken!"
Giadaisms
-Giada is an adventurous eater and usually willing to try anything. This week she tried sashimi and loved it. She said "I'm going to think about if I like it after I chew it.......... I do like it"
- We were riding bikes the other night and she stops her bike yells to the boys across the street "hi boys" and waves to them.....yikes I am in trouble
- She often asks "why do I not turn pink like flamingos, I eat lots of shrimp"
- Giada how did you sleep last night? "excellent"
- "We are not on captain hooks team we are on jake and the never land pirates team"
- Giada found a bird feather at my moms house the other day.  When the neighbor walked by she asked him if he knew where it came from. He said maybe that bird across the street.  She said" it is not from that bird this is a blue feather and that is a Robin over there"
- " I knew I could always count on you mommy"
- I said "oh shit" she said "Mom you can say oucha magoucha, oh man, ouch, but not that mean word" lol
- loves rhyming even if she makes up words herself
- lots of make believe and story telling

Gino
- likes blowing kisses and waving
- loves to feed himself, makes a huge mess but is getting better. Throws his food when he is done, which  is terrible and NOT something Giada did!!
- imitates noises; mostly from Giada
- leg is much better just a slight limp now
- enjoys yogurt, fruit, peas, ham, turkey, crackers
- picks up lots of items and pretends it's a phone he is talking on
- so many kid book have things you can touch and feel. Now if we are reading anything he touches the pages.  He thinks all books are that way
- loves baths, he and Giada have started getting WILD in there. It's a wet mess everywhere when bath time is over!
- throws balls and toys everywhere
