Gymanstics, Mother's Day, Birthdays, Open House, Cousin Love & More...

More on the Spring Gymnastics Show later, when I get around to fixing the video. My last parent tot gymnastics show! whoo hoo! Gino is constantly running around on the floor, much to everyone else's laughter, I'm the one running around chasing him.  Giada was thrilled to do a real routine with bars, balance beam and floor.  Thanks Auntie Hilder for making her day!
Mike is the proud Godfather to Gino Joseph "Joe" Barbera. Fun day in Tomales with the Gino, Erica, Chloe and families!

Lunch date with this sweet girl.  Hard to believe we had just finished her Kindergarten assessment. We are headed to dad's Alma Mater, St Anne's... until then we will enjoy the summer together. Gino and I won't know what to do without her all day!
Sydney dog, happy girl lately going to the dog park!
Sometimes the night calls for movies and popcorn in bed!
Fun night out! Boys and Girls Club Black Tie Dinner!

We celebrated our moms at The Kitchen in Sacramento. Such a unique place, so happy to spend the evening with both of them! xo!
 Cousin Love!

"Stella are you home??"
Open House at Grace Preschool. Below is Giada's self portrait; no surprise that she gave herself so many accessories!
"Now that I am 5 I can do cartwheels. When I grow up I want to be a reformer (performer) that dances on stage!"   LOL - oh no, we are in trouble with this one!
Happy Birthday KR. Cheers to the 29.5!
This little guy loves books. He would read a million in a row if you were willing.  Found him one morning working on some all by himself.
This was Giada "All packed up to leave this house" She didn't like whatever I was telling her to do and had decided to move out.  LOL. Real funny to see what she had in the blanket. LOTS of underwear, dresses and stuffed animals.  She is a character this one. I was pretty sure these types of comments were years off, how wrong I was...
Kids were thrilled to find all these critters in our yard one week.  I was less than thrilled to find that HUGE alligator lizard IN THE HOUSE!
Mother's Day at the lake with both of our families.

This picture was cute until he turned on the mixer and then it looked like it had snowed in the kitchen!

Breakfast anyone? This is the kids craziest request yet. Nutella Peanut Butter, Vegemite, and Apple Butter!
Event Season is here for Calivirgin! Gino was a good helper at the Lodi Farmers Market! The snow cone I found occupied him for a few moments, and he spent the rest of the time trying to eat all our samples!!

And, while Gino was with me, Giada was having so much with with Dylan and Aubrey I thought she would never want to come home.

What a big boy, Gino got to go to school with Giada one day! He was so excited! He starts preschool after the summer.
ummm....not sure what he is doing here. He just threw a bunch of sand in the clean water, then got in for a dip. It is NOT a swimming pool, and why did he leave his clothes on!?!? Crazy boy!
Happy Birthday to me! Dinner at home was perfect!
Give them a little oil and vinegar and they will snack for a longtime!

Happy Easter!

Another Easter Fun run in the books. This year the kids ran off quickly, and seemed excited as we headed over. They told us they were going to run as fast as a lightening bolt!
Check out the video below.

Before the Easter Bunny can come, you must dye eggs right?
I think they had as much fun dying their hands as they did the eggs!

Let the hunt begin! (Giada always wakes up with some serious bed head!)
Giada was thrilled to find a slug on the egg.
"This one sounds like it has money in it Gia-da"

That's a wrap! The kids were so sweet to each other, Giada was helping Gino find some, or the ones with his name, etc.  He said back to her, "it's too cold, you go over and put it in my basket"

The Easter Bunny brought new costumes in the baskets this year.  Jake, Izzy, and Captain Hook have been having lots of pirate battles these days!
Chef Mike strikes again.  So, I asked Mike if he would cook the pancakes, I always screw them up.  I said oh maybe you can make bunny ears or something fun and festive.  This is what the kids got. They were so excited, and didn't know what to eat first.

After a leisurely morning, we headed to the Coldani side for lunch.
Delicious as always and fun to visit with everyone.

Giada said "mom I'll take some pretty pictures in my twirl dress"

Then when I ask Gino this is what I get....

After a short nap by everyone, we were off to the Fuhrman side for dinner and another hunt! Gino wouldn't take off his new Ninja Turtle swim shorts and has wanted to wear them every day since!

Once these crazies got in the pool they didn't get out until their teeth were chattering!

G & G updates & funny quotes!

The Easter Post will be long, so I figured I would do a long overdue post on what the kiddos have been up to, both are at such fun and adventurous ages!

Just like that she is all grown up! 5 1/2 and getting ready for Kindergarten. We have decided on St Anne's and Giada is so excited. We have had a wonderful time at Grace Preschool and Giada is already worried about missing her preschool friends and when she will get to her buddies Maddie, Kylie and of course Seve! I have assured her we can still play with her friends and that she will love meeting new friends in class too!

Giada has such a fun a lively personality, and a whole lot of attitude as well....
or maybe I should call it strong willed :-)

Updates & Giadaisms
- Still doesn't love combing her long hair, but doesn't dare want it cut. The bangs are finally almost grown out; at least long enough to go behind an ear
-Very into accessories, usually necklaces, hair bows, and usually I can have no part in helping her pick them out
- Loves animals and bugs of any kind. Catching them, holding them, petting them, trying to convince me we need more! NOT happening!
- Loves baths and would stay in there for hours
- Loves swimming and wants to go everyday!
-Still very much self dresses, I think I will be thankful that St Anne's has uniforms!
- Good eater still loves her vegetables. The other day she said her 2 favorite things were Brussels Sprouts and Unicorns.....cmon really!?
- Loves puzzles, and drawing pictures
- "Mom, I'm wearing stripes and you have stripes from your wrinkles!"  lol thanks Giada!
- "Those pants with that nightgown, you've got to be kidding me!"
-She told her K teacher at the assessment when she was asked if she knew her birthday, "No, I don't know my birthday, I only know my brothers"
-"Mom, isn't it funny that that ladybug is taking a backpack ride on that other ladybug?"
-"Gino don't do that it looks like you are licking a cow lick!"
-
Gino  is almost 3!
This guy is quite the character. Usually very sweet, and loving. He has always been a pretty easy going kid. He often just runs up and tells you "I  love you" It sometimes throws people off, they aren't used to kids doing that I guess!

Most days I wonder at which moment he is going to brake a body part, and usually I am thinking that all day long. He is jumping, climbing and running everywhere. I actually think he doesn't know how to walk.

Some days when we drop Giada off at school Gino and I go on adventures. This particular day we were walking around downtown and he was being really funny, so I took some photos.  His expressions crack me up! He also insists on wearing this bow tie all the time. Usually it's with a
t- shirt, which looks about as awesome as you are imagining.  He is definitely a self dresser as well. Usually wants to keep the PJs on all day, or maybe put on shorts. He wanted to wear shorts every day of the winter, so at least we are in warm weather now. One less battle!

- Off and on for awhile we have worked on potty training but nothing too crazy. Then a couple weeks ago he decided underwear it was and we haven't looked back! It is weird and awesome to be out of the diaper phase.  I told Gino once he wasn't in diapers he could go to school like Giada. He was very disappointed to realize I didn't actually mean that day...but when school starts up again in August!
- At dinner one night Gino says " I know meat come from pig body, cow body"
- Stella can't quite say Gino yet and it took him awhile to be ok with that "Don't call me Nino, Stella Gino Coldani I hit you with paddle you call me Nino!"
- "Mommy I got nudea"  That means "idea" he is always coming up with ideas
- Calls everyone a "dodo bird"
- "I need a poon" (spoon)
- "Mommy can we shoot a kunk" After I realized he meant skunk, the answer was no
- " I like black and giants no pink ga-da"   (Giants he means orange)
- loves counting
- At night Gino likes me to rub his tummy before he falls asleep. Usually when it is taking awhile I try to leave and he says "I can't rub myself"
- "Mommy I want to tell you something, I love you!"

They keep us on our toes all day long from 6am-10pm...they must take after us and require little sleep!
